Returning from San Antonio on a very snowy and windy day, I am reminded of the bright Texas sun and the warm weather. It was perfect for all that we did. We started out with a Valentine dinner. We had games and enjoyed meeting our hosts. That was the day of our arrival.
We saw the Alamo and heard the story. Then we took a cruise on the river around the Riverwalk. We visited the Mexican Market and had group dinners in the evening.
The next day our hosts took us to Rackspace, a computer cloud for businesses. We toured the King William District viewing interesting architectural homes. In the evening it was time for Western Country dancing at the Midnight Rodeo or the Symphony at the Majestic Theatre.
SAS Shoes is where most of us purchased comfortable shoes at a discount. Then off to see the Mission San Jose with a movie . We went to celebrate the Asian New Year at the Institute of Texan Culture.
The next two days were spent at ranches–one called Enchanted Springs and other was the ranch of Lyndon Johnson, We continued on to see Fredricksburg, an interesting city with good German food, an old dime store, and The Museum of the Pacific War.
The last day was a free day with many suggestions. There is so much to see in San Antonio! Lastly was a farewell dinner where we sang good-by and gave them a donation to Morgan’s Wonderland which is is a playland adapted for the handicapped.
A special thanks goes to Jeanne Minorini who is a member of both clubs for her work to make this exchange a success!
